RESCO - ULTIMATE UVR RESIN - RESIN BOUND BINDER - 1 SQUARE METER KIT

RESCO - Ultimate UVR Resin is a solvent-free, two-part aliphatic (UV Stable) polyurethane resin stone encapsulation binder, We have developed this product from the ground up to be used with decorative dried aggregates to provide the ultimate, high-quality UV-resistant resin bound surfaces.

RESCO - Ultimate UVR Resin has been formulated and is manufactured here in the UK from premium raw materials to ISO:9001 standards to ensure brilliant quality, performance and consistency of the product.

Manufactured from a high-grade polyurethane, RESCO - Ultimate UVR Resin is the perfect system for use in both residential and commercial environments, including driveways, paths, porches, patios, walkways and carparks.

EASY APPLICATION WITHOUT THE NEED FOR A LARGE FORCED ACTION MIXER!

Simply open the mixing pail, empty the contents of the part A and part B bottles into the pail over the aggregate, and mix with a paddle mixer until consistently coated.

15 YEAR PRODUCT GUARANTEE:

We guarantee that the colour of the polyurethane resin will not change when installed and are happy to provide a 15-year guarantee with the RESCO Ultimate Resin Bound System (product only, installation excluded)* (Conditions apply please contact us for further details)

RECOMMENDED MIX DESIGN:

Per 1 Square Meter kit of RESCO - Ultimate UVR Resin, we recommend mixing with:

1 x 25 kg bag of your chosen aggregate.

COVERAGE RATES:

The coverage of this product depends on the thickness of the application, for pedestrian traffic we advise a 15mm thickness, for vehicle traffic we recommend an 18mm thickness.

Pedestrian Traffic:

Each 1 Square Meter kit will cover 1m2 at 15mm on average.

Please note different aggregates do vary as a result of particle density, we recommend ordering 10% extra to account for wastage.

Application Guidelines for Resin Bound Surface Installation

Pre-Installation Checks:

Ensure a successful resin bound surface installation with these preparatory steps:

Weather Conditions: Postpone installation if there is a forecast of rain during or within 4 hours post-application.
Humidity: Utilize an outdoor hygrometer to confirm humidity levels are below 80%; exceeding this may require rescheduling.
Surface Condition: The surface must be properly prepared—clean, primed if required, and fully dried.
Material Inspection: Double-check that all necessary materials are present and correct for quantity, size, batch, and colour.
Tool Inspection: Confirm all tools and equipment are clean and in good working order.

Sub-Base and Base Preparation:

Sub-Base Requirements: A robust sub-base is essential, with a minimum of 150mm depth of compacted Type 3 granular sub-base to SHW clause 805, or suitable crushed aggregate. Ensure a finer crushed concrete aggregate is applied as a blinding layer.
Concrete Bases: Maintain concrete bay proportions close to 1:1 to prevent cracking, reinforcing open bay joints with concrete repair mortar and steel mesh. The concrete should meet a minimum design strength of C35 and compressive strength of 25N/mm² as per BS 8500-2:2015.
Asphalt Bases: Use asphalt with a bitumen binder having a pen value of no more than 100/150. For machine-laid applications, a harder grade of bitumen, such as 70/100 pen, is preferred. Ensure thorough compaction to prevent deformation and cracks, with full edge restraint for stability.

Drainage Considerations:

Concrete: Ensure proper falls are in place leading to adequate drainage systems, as the Resco system allows water to flow through and over the concrete base.
Asphalt: The permeable nature of the Resco Resin Bound System means an integral drainage system isn't necessary when applied over an open grade binder course asphalt.

Mixing Method:

Careful mixing is vital to the installation process:

Ensure the application surface is devoid of any moisture or debris.
Empty the contents of the bag of aggregate into the mixing drum.
Empty part A and B into the mixing drum.
Thoroughly mix the aggregates and the resin, keeping the mixing speed low to prevent excess heat.
Mix until all the aggregate is consistently coated, taking care not to overmix and cause shading differences or reduce working time.

Application Procedure:

Spread the mixed material in manageable amounts, using a float to smooth it evenly.
Frequently clean your trowel with white spirits to maintain a sleek finish and keep aggregates in place.
Trowel the surface thoroughly until the mix is no longer fluid and achieves solidity, immediately rectifying any uneven areas.
For enhanced slip resistance, you may sprinkle crushed glass over the surface at a measured rate.
Allow the installation to cure per the product's specified durations before opening to pedestrian traffic.
